What it does

Air moves horizontally through the fill while water falls vertically through it. The distribution basin sits open at the top, so nozzles and fill can be inspected and cleaned without breaking into pressurised pipework or taking the casing apart. A tower that is awkward to inspect does not get inspected, and fouled fill is the most common reason a tower quietly stops meeting its duty.

Selection is made against the site's design wet bulb, not a nominal catalogue figure.
